Abstract
A review of avulsion injuries of the pelvis and hip, common among adolescent athletes but also seen in adults, occurring at tendon and ligament attachment sites, particularly incompletely ossified apophyses in younger patients. The authors emphasize that correct diagnosis relies on combining clinical examination with imaging, and that most avulsion injuries respond well to conservative management, while surgery may benefit competitive athletes with significant bone-fragment displacement to speed up rehabilitation.
