Multidisciplinary consensus recommendations for management of hepatocellular carcinoma in Middle East and North Africa region

Consensus recommendations from a multidisciplinary panel of specialists across five countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region on the management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a cancer with a rising regional burden driven by viral hepatitis and metabolic liver disease. The panel calls for standardized regional guidelines, better screening and early-diagnosis pathways, use of biomarkers to guide treatment decisions, and stronger referral networks between primary care and specialist centers, alongside guidance on applying the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer staging system locally.
